Awaiting a Response from Metropolitan Evangelos

METROPOLITAN Evangelos of New Jersey never responded to Estiator’s invitation to comment on everything for which he is being blamed by faithful of the parishes in his Metropolis. Although anonymous, the allegations made against him are very serious and relate to specific events that occurred during his pastoral leadership and his relations with the clergy serving his flock. That is the reason why we wanted to give His Eminence one more chance. Our publisher sent him a letter requesting a response to the text being circulated containing allegations against him. In fact, we even sent him the body of this text, as it was posted on websites, where it was surely read by thousands of visitors from America and abroad.

We received requests from several readers to e-mail them copies of the document against Metropolitan Evangelos, but we did not do so, opting to wait for his response before mentioning some of the allegations made against him – not as a private individual, – but as a public figure and a hierarch of our Church in America, where no one is exempt from the rules of transparency and journalistic scrutiny.
