According to the Second Judicial District Court, County of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Michael Lyles was convicted on August 6, 1993 of the following counts and found guilty:
Count I: Abuse of a resident
Count II and Count III: Criminal sexual penetration in the third degree
Count V: Attempted criminal sexual penetration in the third degree
Count VI: Criminal sexual contact int he fourth degree
According to court records, Fr. Michael was sentenced for a total prison term of seven and one-half years. It was further ordered that the defendant be placed on parole for two years after release.
