Anchorage, Alaska – A man convicted of trying to rape a young woman on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus last year is back in jail.

Twenty-two-year-old Michael Oleksa was re-arrested after the district attorney’s office said he did not complete mandatory sex offender and substance abuse treatment after his conviction. Oleksa was convicted in April last year for attempted sexual assault and sentenced to 36 months in jail with 27 suspended.

His bail was set at $1,000. His father, a Russian Orthodox priest at St. Innocent Cathedral, was appointed his third-party custodian. If convicted, Oleksa could spend his remaining sentence behind bars.
