Archimandrite H. Madison

Archimandrite Hilary Madison, 76, of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Orthodox Monastery, South Canaan, entered into eternal rest on Sunday.

Born Richard J. Madison on March 5, 1929 in South Bend, Ind., he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen Ryan. He studied in a Benedictine Monastery. He became Orthodox and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 1954 and was tonsured to the monastic schema in the same year.

The funeral for a Monastic will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Monastery Church, South Canaan. A Divine Liturgy will be held with a Requiem Service Wednesday at 9 with his Beatitude Metropolitan Herman, and his Grace Bishop Tikhon officiating along with the Brotherhood of St. Tikhon.
