New Abuser Listed On Pokrov

Pokrov has listed a new abuser under its “Public Allegations” section. Father Roger Vaughn is a priest in the Orthodox-Catholic Church in America (OCCA). This group is not affiliated with SCOBA, and is listed on a site called “Religious Groups That Use ‘Orthodox’ in Their Names But Are Not Canonical Eastern Orthodox Churches.”

Prior to 2000, Vaughn was a Roman Catholic priest in the Crosier Order. In 2006, Vaughn was publicly accused of sexual abuse in a lawsuit. In 2009, Vaughn’s name appeared on a list of Crosier priests with credible abuse allegations which was prepared as part of a settlement in another lawsuit.
