Monk Accused Of Having Sexual Contact With Local Minor

SCRANTON, Pa. — The Catholic Diocese of Scranton said a monk has been accused of having sexual contact with a minor from Berks County.

But the diocese said the accused, Father Angelus Ferrar, is not affiliated with the diocese. It also said the place in Susquehanna County where the assault allegedly occurred is not affiliated with the diocese.

Ferrar is a monk with the Melkite Greek-Catholic Eparchy. He reportedly turned himself in on Friday.
