Bithos Suspension Lifted

According to a September 10, 2010, memorandum from the office of the chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the suspension of Deacon George P. Bithos was lifted as of August 2, 2010. There was no explanation for this action.

Bithos, who is also a retired dentist, was suspended earlier this year after a woman made a written complaint to Metropolitan Isaiah Chronopoulos alleging that Blithos had fondled her breasts while she was under nitrous oxide in 1982. At the time, both Bithos and the woman attended Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Dallas, Texas. Bithos has denied the allegations.
