The Diocese of Nikaia belongs to the Church of Greece.
In June of 2026, four women accused a former archimandrite of sexual abuse and coercion during their childhood. The Diocese said it followed all required disciplinary procedures after learning of the allegations. The Diocese added that “competent church bodies” had already ruled on the matter, but that the decision “could not be made public due to personal data protection rules.”
