Paul Cromidas (1931 – 2017)

CROMIDAS, Paul Paul Cromidas, 86, departed this life August 20, 2017, in Dallas, Texas, after months of declining health. He was born in Worcester, MA, to Astor and Caliope Cromidas. He later lived in Bucks County, PA, and has been a resident of Dallas since 1975. Paul earned an undergraduate degree from Clark University, and master’s degrees in social work and journalism from Boston University. He loved learning and encouraged others to pursue higher education. He retired from a position as Executive Director of Family Guidance Center in Dallas. In his retirement, he wrote prolifically speaking out against the darkness of institutionalized child abuse. His campaign to raise public awareness and to bring healing to those who suffered was passionate and steadfast and was one of the countless ways he helped others throughout his career and lifetime. Paul was also a passionate photographer, responsible for cataloging many wonderful memories for his family throughout his life. He considered his family to be his greatest achievement. His wife of 61 years, Betty Regan Cromidas, originally from Marlborough, MA, survives him, along with daughter Cynthia Fox and husband Arthur Fox, their daughter Tiffany Regan Smith and husband Riley, son Paul Cromidas and wife Theresa Cromidas, and beloved grandchildren Nicholas Cromidas and Madalyn Cromidas. He is predeceased by his brothers Anthony and Arestotales (Telly). A Trisagion service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, 75240 at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017. The funeral service and burial will follow at 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Flowers are welcome. Donations can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and to the United Way.
