Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze

Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze is a priest in the Patriarchate of Georgia. He headed the Church’s property department and managed a medical center in Georgia.

On February 10, 2017, the Archpriest was arrested on suspicion of plotting to poison an unnamed cleric in the Georgian Church. He has denied the allegations.

Archpriest Mamaladze was found guilty of plotting premeditated murder and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The priest’s lawyers say that they will appeal the verdict.
