Bishop Philip Koutoufas, who was a priest in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA) at the time, worked at St. Basil Academy as a director. The Academy is part of the GOA. Bishop Koutoufas was accused in lawsuits of child sexual abuse stemming from his time at the Academy. One accuser is male, the other female. He went on to become the GOA Bishop in Atlanta, and died in 1995.
