Christopher Bowen was a resident of St. Basil Academy . The Academy belongs to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA).
Chris filed a lawsuit against the Academy and the GOA. In his complaint Chris said that he had been sexually abused between 1983 and 1986, when he was 12 to 15 years old, by Finley Everett Eubanks. Eubanks was a former teacher and dorm supervisor at the Academy, who died in 2002. Chris accused Eubanks of exposing himself to older male students at St. Basil’s, showing them pornographic films, as well as fondling Chris and asking for oral sex. Eubanks and his wife also hosted Chris and other students at their New York City apartment, according to the lawsuit.
