Father Andreas Papadimitropoulos was an Orthodox priest in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. He was assigned to the parish of Saint Catherine in East Malvern, Victoria.
Father Papadimitropoulos, a married priest with two children, pleaded guilty to one count of indecent assault on August 2, 2002. The victim was a seventeen-year-old girl who was a regular parishioner at the church in East Malvern. The priest received a two-month suspended jail sentence.
Church authorities temporarily suspended Father Papadimitropoulos from the priesthood and froze his wages for five years as a result of his conviction. He was also prohibited from hearing confessions for a time.
Father Papadimitropoulos died in February of 2021, still the parish priest at Saint Catherine.
