Priest Grozovsky reports threats
St. Petersburg, November 13, Interfax – Priest Gleb Grozovsky, who is accused of molesting two girls, says he has received threats from the parent of a boy who went to the summer camp.
In a video posted on a social networking site, Grozovsky said one boy, named Daniil, was expelled from a summer camp where he worked “for inappropriate behavior” and the boy’s father Sergey Zazimko has threatened the priest.
“Different people are making assumptions Sergey Zazimko may be behind the accusations made against me. We currently can neither confirm nor deny that… I confirm the camp counselor’s words that Sergey Zazimko has threatened me,” Grozovsky said.
The priest, however, has spoken against the persecution of the Zazimko family.
According to earlier reports, Grozovsky, the former senior priest of a church in the Leningrad region, is accused of molesting two schoolgirls. A criminal case has been opened against him based on Part 4 of Article 132 of the Russian Criminal Code (molesting a child younger than 14).
According to information possessed by the investigators, Grozovsky, 34, molested two girls, aged nine and 12, in a hotel located on the territory of a children’s camp belonging to the Orthodox travelers club, Philadelphia, on Kos Island in Greece in June 2013.
The investigators are now verifying information on the commission of similar crimes in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region by the suspect, the Investigations Committee’s Department for St. Petersburg reported.
Grozovsky was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list. He denies the accusations, saying that the investigators are putting pressure on the children’s parents. Grozovsky is now in Israel helping drug addicts and alcoholics.
