Sexual Abuse Settlements Strain Greek Orthodox Budget

An American Orthodox Institute article highlights several points from a recent interview with Archbishop Demetrios, head of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese. Highlights include: payments since 2000 for sexual abuse settlements total $16 million; the GOA is continuing to pay $150,000 a month from one sexual abuse settlement alone; and the Greek Government is being asked to fund Hellenic College and Holy Cross Seminary due to financial issues presumably linked to the sexual abuse case settlements.
