Traverse City, MI: Bishop Charged With Sexual Misconduct

Authorities say an Orthodox bishop from Ohio has been arrested and charged with groping a woman’s breast at a Michigan casino.
Fifty-four-year-old Demetri Khoury of Toledo was arraigned Friday in Traverse City on a felony charge of criminal sexual conduct and a charge of being drunk and disorderly.
He was released on $25,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing was set for August 1st for Khoury.
He oversees eight states and Ontario for the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church. The church requires bishops to take a vow of celibacy.
Michigan State Police trooper Paul Kushner told The Toledo Blade that the incident was recorded on the Turtle Creek Casino’s video surveillance system.
